About
I am Jeanette Sandoval and I live in a small town called Rice, TX. I am currently attending Navarro College this fall semester of 2014. I'm studying criminal justice and pursuing more into my career. My expectations are very high in everything I do. I am very fortunate to be a member of the National Honor Society for Navarro College. Knowing I'm a member of the National Honor Society gives me more motivation to be a blissful leader and a great citizen for my community. Being the first generation in my family to go to college is blessing for me. It means a lot to me because I make my family proud and also, because I am proving to my family and everyone else that I can reach my goals and dreams that I worked so hard to achieve. My parents are my rock they've helped me enormously along the way because they teach me valuable lessons and makes me believe more in myself. My parents always encouraged me from a young age to study hard and earn good grades so I could attend a good University. Getting into a college for me isn't a problem; its finding a way to pay for college tuition. Therefore I will continue to strive and work hard because I know I have all the potential to receive a scholarship so my dreams and goals can come true. Balancing full-time student and worker have not been easy at all, but my wonderful family provide my motivation. Sacrifice have to made, but the recompense will be big. The guidance I have received at Navarro College has been excellent. No one said it was going to be easy, but with hard work and dedication anything is possible.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
I am 21 years old and I have always wanted a career in the criminal justice field. I will be graduating in December of 2014 and have plans to attend law school. I know I have a long road ahead of me in reaching that goal. My first thoughts were leading toward becoming a police officer. I still plan to become one, but I rather become in law enforcement once I graduate Navarro College. Get involved for sure would be my greatest advice to new students. I believe that getting involved in a student organization and clubs conducted by major really helps ease into college life. Becoming involved and participation helps gain a relationship with others and best of all my professors whom can help me continue on my road to success.
- Graduate school interests
My goal in attending graduate school is to prepare for the Criminology Club of Kansas State University. My research interests are diverse and typically transcend, traditional criminal justice topics. Perhaps computer fraud investigation, crime scene analysis, or even social control. My primary objective of the program is to provide the highest graduate training of the Criminology Club.
- Outside the classroom
A hobby Is an escape from school or daily life. Hobbies are something hard to by for me. Being a full time student, working thirty hours a week and trying to maintain a social life can be tough sometimes. However they do exist and here you will have a gateway into my world outside of all my school work and other things. “I try to keep a balanced life, like doing sports, playing guitar and having a social life. It helps you stay productive.Having a hobby shows that you’re creative and structured person. However I enjoy music, politics, sports and bible study.
