About

After spending most of my adult life walking with a cane and taking a cocktail of prescription medications, I had a treatment plan that worked without the use of any medications. What an amazing gift?! After experiencing severe illness from the withdrawal of medications, I sat wondering what I would do with my new life. A few months after this serious life change I landed a job working as a para-educator at a local middle school. I was thrilled! Growing up with a sibling with cerebral palsy, I grew passionate in bringing joy and meaning to lives of those in the special needs community. Working as a para-educator has been such a joy, I love the students I work with and making a difference in their lives. Last fall I decided to pursue a degree in special education, it was a little rough at first trying to get used to college after an 8 year hiatus. Once I completed my first class I completely submerged myself into my education, I love it. I love learning and doing well in my academics. I look forward to completing my degree with hard work and dedication.
