About

I am a college sophomore attending Hampton University studying psychology. When given the opportunity I volunteer at my Alma mater Howard High School of Technology along with mentoring to young girls while I am home on break. Receiving the opportunity to volunteer at my Alma mater and mentoring gives me a chance to connect with people in my community and give back to the staff who supported and pushed me to follow my dreams. My volunteering includes speaking to incoming freshman and parents along with students who currently attend Howard. Speaking to them and giving a positive role model to show furthering your education and staying focused is very important. I truly enjoy speaking to younger students because there is always a topic to relate to along with something they can learn from my advice. Not only are they learning something from me, I am learning from them. They teach me how to deal with different personalities and how to communicate in ways that others can understand in the best way possible. Mentoring and giving back is truly a gift that continues.
