About
I am a second-degree student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with the goal of becoming a registered nurse. My professional background includes three years in marine mammal rescue and rehabilitation, as well as experience in veterinary medicine, where I developed skills in caregiving, teamwork, communication, and patient advocacy. I am also a mother of two young children, and returning to college while balancing family responsibilities has strengthened my resilience, organization, and determination. I am passionate about combining science with compassionate care and hope to work in a fast-paced nursing specialty where I can support patients and families during vulnerable moments. My long-term goals include providing knowledgeable, dependable care, creating greater stability for my family, and eventually mentoring future nurses as they begin their own professional journeys.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
My intended career path is to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, obtain my registered nurse license, and begin working in a fast-paced clinical specialty where I can combine critical thinking, science, patient advocacy, and compassionate care. I hope to support patients and their families during vulnerable and stressful experiences while continually strengthening my clinical skills and knowledge. As I gain experience, I would like to take on greater responsibility, develop my leadership abilities, and contribute to a safe and supportive healthcare environment. My long-term goal is to become an experienced and dependable nurse who not only provides excellent patient care but also mentors nursing students and newly licensed nurses as they begin their careers.
- Graduate school interests
My graduate school interests are centered on advancing my nursing education after gaining meaningful clinical experience as a registered nurse. I am especially interested in programs that would allow me to develop greater expertise in nursing education, leadership, or advanced clinical practice. Because one of my long-term goals is to mentor nursing students and newly licensed nurses, I may eventually pursue a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on nursing education. I am also open to exploring advanced practice specialties as I gain experience and better understand which patient population and clinical setting best align with my strengths. Ultimately, graduate education would help me expand my ability to improve patient care, support future nurses, and contribute to positive changes within healthcare.
