About

My life philosophy is to rise by lifting up the people around me. I seek out opportunities to help others and often take on leadership roles among my peers. I am recognition-motivated and put my best effort into everything I do. If it's worth doing, it's worth doing well.
I didn't always want to be a teacher, but I was inspired when I saw children struggle to succeed in school and not receive the help they needed to reach their potential. Everyone deserves to have a teacher who truly cares about their success, and I intend to be that teacher for all of my students. I am an advocate for providing the needed educational supports for children with disabilities in public schools. Throughout my daughter's battle with cancer, her educational needs changed rapidly, and I learned a lot about the special education system at her school. I discovered that many children in special education programs were not receiving the supports they needed, and I made the decision to pursue a career helping children in special education.
