About

I am honored to be a wife, mother ,and grandmother attending graduate school setting an example to reach for your highest educational opportunities. My nursing experience began at the age of 18 when I became an LPN. I furthered my nursing career and completed my associate nursing degree in 1984 and my bachelor's degree in nursing in 2003. I have worked closely volunteering for the American Cancer Society (ACS) for nearly 25 years. My desire to give back to the community began after losing family members to cancer and waning to make a difference in the lives of those battling cancer. The Pink October Program that I have had the opportunity to have a key role for over 20 years has given thousands of dollars to local individuals to battling breast cancer and thousands of dollars to the ACS) for all types of cancer research and education, Our Pink October program is held annually and labeled as a ladies night out. Our event has over 1000 attendees and the monies generated is given to current breast cancer survivors and a portion to our parish Relay for Life to be dispersed to all types of cancers. Our job is not done until cancer is eradicated.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I am hoping to work in a rural clinic to meet the need of all patient populations. That was the reason i chose to pursue the FNP track for my graduate studies.

Graduate school interests

I would like to fulfill my dream and complete my graduate studies May 2018. The role of the family nurse practitioner will allow me to begin a new journey as an advanced practice nurse and treat all patient populations while providing education to enhance treatment outcomes.

Outside the classroom

I enjoy spending times with my grandchildren that allows me to remain young at heart by doing the things they enjoy doing:
reading, bike riding, swimming, camping, board games, computer games , and putting together puzzles.
