Jiyu Kim

I'm Jiyu Kim, an aspiring CPA and first-year Accountancy student at Baruch College. My journey into accounting didn’t begin with numbers: it began with impact.From delivering equity research briefs at JPMorgan Chase to completing 150+ therapeutic care hours in an animal clinic, I’ve always found purpose in both precision and people. At the All Stars Project, I refined my public speaking and interview skills through 50+ hours of executive training. I am still learning that leadership isn’t just about speaking confidently, but listening intently.Rooted in community and resilience, I’ve led mental health workshops at the Esther Ha Foundation. I earned Congressional Recognition for Service, and placed Top 10 Speakers in the NYC Urban Debate League. Whether on stage or in spreadsheets, I’m passionate about uplifting underserved voices and bridging business with service. I was selected for competitive programs like Project Glimmer (13% acceptance rate) and Mercy University’s Business Leadership Academy (12% acceptance rate). I bring not just academic excellence (4.0 GPA), but a drive to use accounting as a platform for change. I am fluent in both English and Korean, grounded in a bicultural perspective. I see accounting not just as a profession. But, a path to advocacy, equity, and empowerment.
