About
Hello! Thank you for viewing my Scholarship Application and profile. I am passionate about travel and supporting agriculture and my community through service. I want to leave the places I go better than I found them by leaving a positive impact. I am attending College to get my Bachelor's in Finance and Accounting. I hope that while in College, I can use the skills I have learned through participation in the National Honor Society, FFA, 4-H, and Link Crew to be bold and help others to be bold, get more involved in their college experience, and get the most out of their higher education. Everyone needs a little motivation. My drive is knowing so many people need encouragement and support to find motivation, and I want to help with that. I know my purpose is to live to serve, as it is one of my passions. My goal is to be able to do it while in College, my higher education, and in my career.

In this activity my FFA Chapter planned a field trip for the Elementary schools in the Silver Falls School District to teach the younger generation about produce knowledge, jobs related to food and farm products, and the importance of Agriculture in a world that has a growing population and needs sustainable practices. As an FFA Officer, I was in charge of preparing the field trip. In executive meetings I presented my ideas that would allow the field trip to run smoothly and be engaging, while remaining educational for the kids. In the classroom, I rallied FFA members to participate, creating jobs for everyone. Posters were designed, and I trained station and group leaders to know the lesson plans and to be engaging and fun for the kids; but also to recognize signs of a kid being overwhelmed, experiencing heat exhaustion, or how to deal with behavioral issues. The stations consisted of animals, staple Oregon commodities, a tractor, snacks, coloring, and a game. I bought two of my dairy cows so the kids could learn about safety and facts on dairy farming. On the morning of the field trip I moved around to check if FFA members and their assigned group were doing well and to resolve any problems. In the afternoon I led my own group because of more kids. The next day, we emailed the teachers to ask for feedback, and we got positive results.

Since 2018 I have been fundraising for the Oregon Dairy Women, primarily through their Ice cream booth. The booth is set up during the State fair, local county fair, and Mount Angel’s Oktoberfest. A shift lasts four hours, but I am always willing to work an extra shift. It takes eight people to fill a shift, each with their own job. I have learned how to make the cones, shakes, and sundaes that the booth sells. Together we raised around $50,000 annually for the Oregon Dairy Women Organization to further the teaching and promotion of the Dairy industry. Since this project is working with customers, I have learned important soft skills like communication and interpersonal skills to keep customers happy. Aside from working in the Dairy Women's Ice Cream Booth, I also promote the dairy industry by writing speeches and advocating the importance of dairy in the nutrition of everyday lives as well as the new technologies that make dairy farms sustainable, and even provide energy for neighborhoods. Being the daughter of a Dairy Farmer, I have grown up in the value of hard work and the knowledge surrounding the versatility of milk products ranging from gourmet cheeses to the morning coffee creamer. Dairy farming is one of my passions that I hope to educate my community, state, and country more about.
