John Houchens

My name is John, I was born and raised outside of Cincinnati, Ohio in a christian household of six. My family has always had a big role in my life and from a young age my parents instilled an environment of honor and respect. I have always been passionate about the beauty of the world we live in and enjoy going on adventures and travelling. I like to try and understand life from other perspectives and cultures. I am getting my degree in MET because I enjoy learning about innovative technologies that make our everyday lives more efficient. I am also working towards a minor in Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Challenging myself is a regular thing, and I have recently pushed myself to cook more elaborate and healthy meals as well as keep a regular workout routine. I have accepted a full-time position for after graduation into the rotational leadership program at GE Appliances in Louisville, KY where I have been Co-oping parallel to getting my undergraduates degree. This program will continue to develop me into an inclusive leader while gaining a critical knowledge of business in manufacturing. My long-term goal is to design and fabricate innovative products on the side while working full-time until I have something tangible to bring to market and build a business around.
