Johnathan Kasten

I want to be around athletics and competitive sports. I enjoy the competition aspect of sports, being part of a team and the preparation involved with being an elite athlete. I am motivated when surrounded by those who share a similar commitment, which inspires me to greater preparation and performance in support of our team and victory.

Inasmuch, I have a natural interest in human performance as well as science and math. I bring a strong desire to learn and have applied experience as a successful student athlete in each area.

To help understand work opportunities in sports and athletics, I have volunteered for a collegiate league summer baseball team and a local parks department. The things I have enjoyed most come back to human performance and my hands-on work in support of the athletes and competitive spaces. This, combined with my service as captain of sports teams, member of the high school athletic leadership council and repeated recognition for outstanding academic achievements has shaped my interest in this academic path.

The continued development of my knowledge around human performance, strength and nutrition will make me a better athlete, team player and position me to make repeated contributions to this growing industry long after I can no longer compete myself.
