Jonathan Andrew Garza

Hello, my name is Jonathan Garza and I am a photojournalist.

For as long as I can remember I have listened to others stories. I have learned from their experiences, cried with their pain, and healed alongside their hearts. I never quite saw the world the same as everyone else. Every day was an opportunity and a challenge. Once I picked up a camera, my life was never the same. Yet, I want to do more than simply observe. I want to teach and share the gifts that have been shared with me. Photojournalism has allowed me to do this.

Yes, I have an eye for photography but I also have a vision for my work. I know what it's like to test my patience and wait for that decisive moment before taking what may be the best photo I ever capture. Each day I work to beat my best, to grow, and continue learning. I want to create something memorable, not simply record the moment.

I believe there are many decisive moments still waiting for me, and I look forward to discovering them.
