About

Growing up as the first in my family to pursue a college education, I faced a unique set of challenges that shaped my academic journey, especially when combined with financial hardships. These challenges played a significant role in influencing my performance throughout high school, pushing me to develop resilience and determination in ways I never thought of achieving. Without any family members who had gone through the college application process, I often had to figure things out on my own. This lack of guidance, combined with the financial stress at home, created challenges that affected my focus and time management. During high school, I worked part-time jobs to support my family, which meant I sometimes had less time to dedicate to my studies. Balancing work, school, and family responsibilities was overwhelming at times, and there were moments when it felt like I couldn’t keep up with the needs of all my responsibilities, along with the stress of figuring out how to pay for college applications, tests, and other related expenses added even more pressure, which had made it more difficult for me to focus entirely on academic work. Despite these challenges, I developed strength and a strong work ethic. I learned to prioritize tasks, seek out resources when I needed help, and stay focused on my goals. While I faced many setbacks, I never gave up. I knew that if I wanted to create a better future for myself and my family, I would have to keep pushing forward. This experience, while difficult, taught me valuable lessons in time management, problem-solving, persistence, and self-reliance. It shaped my academic performance, motivated me to keep striving for success, and gave me a sense of purpose that continues to drive me today.
