About

I am a firm believer in making your own future. I don't accept the notion of becoming successful vicariously through someone else. Either you do the work or you don't make it. I am very independent, which is a funny trait considering I played baseball through most of my life. When working in large groups, I can feel timid at the beginning, feeling my ideas aren't worth the words it takes to say them, until I warm up to my peers. I always prefer to figure things out myself, but not to be confused with being afraid to ask for help. Most things I try to get on my own. I am passionate about certain small things and these are the things I appreciate. For example, I love writing and drawing. It keeps me creative in a major that is bogged down by a lot of math and science. I have always been a very quirky person, never really caring or going with what is trending among other people. I would rather sit at home and watch a series on Theology or something of that nature rather than go out with friends on a Friday night. This is just the way I am. I always feel like I have an important role to fill and, that if I am not always keeping current on technology and the news, then I could never hope to fulfill my role. This is the main reason why I don't party or spend much time with friends. I love learning so college is more than just school for me. It's what I actually have an interest in. I prefer to see something that needs to be fixed rather than something that is already fixed. I am always thinking of new ways to make something even better. I feel this, accompanied with my eagerness to learn, will carry me through to a perfect career in computers for me, even if life throws a couple of surprised my way to get there.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I plan to either stay with my current job until graduation or, if I can, get an internship in any computer field for any type of experience other than sales at my current job. I am looking to use that knowledge from the internship to carry over into my real career after college with a computer manufacturer such as Nvidia or Intel. Other companies involved in computers interest me as well, but I am striving toward working for a big name corporation such as Intel because there is a wide range of possibilities as to what I will be best suited for within a large company rather than being confined to a specific needed job in a smaller company.

Outside the classroom

Hobbies of mine include playing any sort of sports, but mainly baseball or Frisbee. I also like to watch the news or Youtube during my down time. I am a tinkerer with computers so I am always working on my computer when I can. Love to play video games and have Skype sessions with friends.
