Jordan Charley

My name is Jordan Charley but I choose to go by my middle name Meadow because of its uniqueness. My achievements through community college do not only look good on a resume and show for me but they drove me in ways I did not know I could handle. In high school I put school on the back burner and did not ever see myself going to college. I took a year break from high school as I graduated a semester early and during that year I worked for child support services learning about being a leader, about home life, and that experience pushed me to a point where I knew I could handle school if I really wanted to. I left that job on great terms where I was able to get a good letter for future jobs to show I am a good worker and enrolled in Johnson County Community College where I saw myself succeed amazingly. I made the honor roll every semester in college and made the presidential honor roll the recent spring semester. My education is extremely important to me now as it comes first to anything. While taking my college algebra course I made sure to go to every office hour to do great in that course as math is my hardest subject but I left the course with a 99.99%. My first semester was the hardest as I did not know what to expect. I made sure for every class I took to sit in the very front and never miss class unless absolutely needed. I always was the first to answer teachers questions and be interactive with not only the teacher but for other students if they needed help. My friends who go to the same college always reach out to me for any questions or concerns they have with tackling on school with personal life or even questions about what courses to take together. Being in college not only showed me that I am way more capable academically than I ever thought but also showed me that I can help others and step out of my bubble to get help if I need it to.
