Jordyn Macneill

I am currently a senior at Columbia Falls High School in Montana. I have never been a straight A student but I always study, try my best, and never give up. I'm not afraid to ask teachers or other students questions and I always make sure I understand a topic to the best of my ability. I was born in Denver, Colorado and lived there for eleven years before moving to Columbia Falls, Montana. Most of my moms side of the family lives near here and we are a very close family. I have been a competitive gymnast on and off since I was three years old. I started in mommy and me classes and I started competing soon after. I have done soccer a couple years, volleyball for a year but I always go back to gymnastics. I even tried coaching the kids from ages five to ten but the fact that they didn't have the same love for the sport was a bit frustrating. I am finally done with gymnastics but it will forever be a huge part in my life. It has taught me integrity, patience, how to except failure and grow from it, grit, discipline, determination, consistency, and so many other life long skills. Throughout my gymnastics career I suffered many injuries. I have a stress fracture on my right ischium, I have hyper extended my right knee, broke and dislocated my right little toe at state when I stubbed it on a mat after the first event. I also have very tight and painful shoulders, my back no longer bends correctly, I have bad shin splints and a possible stress fracture on my left shin, my wrists are painful, and my ankles and my hips. I also hyper extended my left elbow when I slipped off the bars and that sprain never fully healed. Although I have had a lot of injuries and pains I will never regret doing the toughest sport.
