About

After experiencing a major sports injury first hand, I decided to make the best of my situation and embrace the physical rehabilitation process, that is when I came to realize what I truly want to pursue and that is physical therapy. I come from a family that immigrated from Bolivia into this country with not a lot of money, but wealthy in values, I have been taught that great things do not just happen, they are the result of your hard work. From a young age I have seen my parents endure hard times, but that has only motivated me to be the first person in my family to attend college. I am currently working toward my kinesiology degree at the University of Houston. I define myself as a leader in my community. For example, I have helped organized various professional sport camps for kids of all ages up to 18. I partnered up with ProCamps worldwide, a company dedicated in hosting sport events for kids with elite pro athletes. My duty in these camps was to assist the director of camp operations and make sure the event goes as smooth as possible. Thanks to these sport camps I have acquired hands on experience working in fast paced environments and worked with top athletes such as, James Harden from the Houston Rockets and Houston Texans line backer Brian Cushing. Recently I have been recruited to work as an intern for the United States Physical Therapy (USPH) association. I am about to start my Senior year at the University of Houston and hopefully with your financial help of a scholarship I will be able to focus all of my time towards impacting my community.
