About

College for me has been full of sweat, tears, frustration, joy, pride and excitement. I'd be lying if I said that college has been a breeze. I've encountered many ups and downs in my life but the drive that I have remains within me. College serves a purpose to further ones education while also helping the individual find his/her true self. I am now starting to find my true self. I am a driven individual that has a passion to succeed in life and to educate the youth. Education is my career choice and I work as a resource assistant for students that have visual disabilities. My employment is very rewarding and I cannot see myself working in a different field that does not advocate for the youth of this world.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I plan to pursue a career in education. My focus would be to teach students that have disabilities in the primary levels. After teaching in the classroom I plan to become an administrator of an elementary school. As an administrator of an elementary school I would incorporate evidence based curriculum and strategies to enhance student learning for educators to implement in the classroom.

Graduate school interests

I am interested in receiving my Bachelors degree in Sociology with a Minor in Urban Learning while receiving a Teaching Credential from an accredited university. After that I will be looking into the Masters program that UCLA offers in education. To culminate with my educational goals, I plan to receive a doctorate degree in Education Leadership.

Outside the classroom

I enjoy running at the beach during cold mornings. I also enjoy reading non fiction books and books about historical events. Spending time with family is important as well and I consider it a hobby.
