About
Goals/aspirations:
My name is Joseph Knipp. I am twenty five years old and I have lived in Tucson all my life. I have always been a people person for as long as I can remember. To me, the ideal career would involve working directly with people, both co-workers and customer alike. My overall goal is to have a career I can be proud of that I can use to support my new family. I recently proposed to my beautiful girlfriend and nothing is more important to me than finishing school and starting a career so that I may be able to provide all the necessities that a new home would call for. There are many things that I will have to provide and I know that with a degree from the University of Arizona I will be on the right path to success. I’m not entirely sure what I “want to do when I grow up,” but I do know that I want to make a difference in the lives of people. Not just the ones I know, but in the multitudes that I come into contact with on a day to day basis. I know that right now I would like to one day work as a HR representative or in upper management if I had a choice. I enjoy making something run smoothly and with the least amount of complications. I believe in hard work and honesty in every day experiences. I love meeting new people and most importantly I love to make people smile. My current goal is to graduate from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication. Several members of my family have graduated from the University already and I can’t wait to join them in accomplishing this goal through hard work and dedication.
Circumstances that affect my schooling:
Over the years there have been many factors in my life that have affected my schooling experiences. Throughout the school years I have held multiple jobs all while attending classes as a full time student. Without the steady income from these jobs, school would not have been an option for me and for that I am eternally grateful. Working during the school year has taught me how to quickly and effectively manage my time, control stress levels, balance work, school and personal life, and also it has helped me to better understand the roles that the different levels of workers play in the corporate world. While attending school I have held many different job types including but not limited to: management, customer services, cashiering, stocking and inventory management, and childcare. I have been the boss and the lowest level employee of various establishments. This has helped me have a better understanding of the processes and steps needed to succeed in a corporate setting. Through these past and present occupations I have learned invaluable knowledge and life traits such as responsibility, integrity, honesty and hard work. I have learned to be thorough, accurate and speedy with all my work, and to get things done within the allotted time frame. All of these skills have helped me tremendously with my school work and my ability to succeed in the academic world. I have a very broad repertoire of experiences that has helped shape me into the worker and student that I am today. I know that my experiences from these jobs will be nothing but an asset to my education because after I receive my Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Arizona I will already know how to deal with the pressures and stress of balancing my life with my work life.
