About

When people ask you “Where do you see yourself in 30 years?” There tends to be a hesitation as you think about your options. Some people don’t even know the answer until later in life. I am one of those people. I have enjoyed working for a company for over 26 years, having started at the “old age” of 33. I am a late bloomer. I am an Industrial Electrician. I enjoy working with electricity, troubleshooting a problem and then finding the solution. In fact, my grandson calls me the fixer when it comes to everyday problems. I stumbled on a passion though, while teaching my grandkids.
I was helping my granddaughter learn how to multiply. I discovered that when she finally understood math, a light turned on in her mind. I began to crave that light. I helped my granddaughter master algebra and science. In fact she graduated from middle school with a 4.0 GPA. I know that it was not all me of course, but I have such pride knowing I helped her achieve her goals.
My definition of success is easy. I decided that when I retire at 30 years, I want to become a teacher. I want to see lights turning on in minds everywhere. I believe I can help kids be what they want to be. If I can witness a single light shining brightly, I will have been successful. Their future will be so bright I will have to wear shades.
