Joseph Rodriguez

My name is Joseph Rodriguez and I am an undergraduate at California State University Of Monterey Bay. I study cinematography and technology with a minor in Global Studies aspiring to become a camera man for a news station. The reason why I want to be a camera man for a news station is because I want to personally change the bias and incorrect news that are being fed to the masses of my country. It is notoriously known that in social media, there are bias news information not just on television but on the internet as well. I want to show the unfiltered news and broadcast the true and honest source of information. The idea of my career originated when I was a young boy growing up in the elementary years. When I could not own up to my mistakes from class, I would lie to my mother because I did not want to displease her, but when she told me that telling the truth, no matter how bad it is, is preferred over something she would rather hear, I worked on myself trying to edge out this weakness of mine. Over the years of being asked, "What do you want to do when you grow up," it echoed my head and the only thing that question brought me back to was to be honest and truthful. I became so obsessed with being truthful and keeping a clear conscience because I saw how truth, no matter how negative it was, would bring people together, and how honesty brought about trust between groups to individuals. I believe that with pure honesty, and with my love of film making, I could bring and unite the people of my country.
