I enjoy thinking critically and solving problems and want to know more about the interplay between humans and nature and how we can address the serious problems which impact people and planet. Choosing Applied Economics as my major and Environmental Geosciences (Geology) as my minor, means that I will gain the knowledge and experience to apply my skills in this field and contribute to constructive environmental policies.

The environment and people play a crucial role in my life. I found that giving back to the community brought balance in my academic and sport life. I belonged to the Interact Club and took part in all the community service activities, such as blood donation days, plant a tree initiative, sports days for underprivileged children, Christmas games and parcels day for below-the-poverty-line schools and read-along afternoons. These took place at Yellow Wood School (George, South Africa).
