Josselyn Howell

I am currently a student in the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program at the Indiana University School of Nursing (IUSON). I am an August graduate of the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at the IUSON, and am excited to have just obtained FNP board certification. I am currently working full time as a registered nurse, charge nurse, and preceptor at the IU Health Emergency Medicine and Trauma Center at Methodist Hospital, a Level I trauma center. This year I have also worked at COVID-19 testing sites and at mass vaccination clinics in my city to help my community recover from the pandemic. While not working on school work or working at the hospital, I also work as a teacher's assistant for undergraduate courses at the IUSON. I currently serve as Leadership Succession Chair for the local Alpha Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International, and am an active member in the Emergency Nurse's Association Indy Roadrunner's Chapter. I have a background in neuroscience research, having worked for the IU Health Clinical and Cognitive Neuroscience Center conducting schizophrenia research prior to attending nursing school.
