Thanks for stopping by my page! (I hope it finds you well and doesn't leave you bored)
~_______________________________________________________________________________________________________~
I'm a Portland born and raised, Mexican man who recently gave up a Pacific Northwest life of Inpatient group counseling, and Improv-Comedy performing and weekend distance races to move to The University of Chicago to pursue some more debt and a couple Master's degrees and to coach DIII, collegiate wrestling.
I enjoy laughter, people, reading good things, learning new things, random phone calls, talking about Jesus, bike rides, Asian cuisine, spontaneity, blowing bubbles, games (anything from sports to board games), long runs, languages and wandering to new places. I eat three eggs over toast for breakfast and consume kale, chicken, nuts and veggies almost every day, but I'm a sucker for chocolate and have a tough time saying no to a delicious burrito (I have the same problem when it comes to karaoke invites). If we have conversation for a bit I'll guarantee you a smile with a high chance of laughter.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
Among other things, my previous four years as an inpatient counselor have given me a heart to pursue work with foster children.
That has lead me to SSA at U Chicago; I intend to look for a position in the U.S. working with the foster care system upon graduation, with the ultimate goal of catalyzing non-profit work to implement national foster care systems in Central American countries.
After a couple decades of that I may return to the states (or move to the UK) to pursue higher education in Neuroscience, that I might be able to contribute to the world in a different field through research and/or Medical practice.
When my body is no longer able to move the way it can right now, I intend to spend an extensive amount of time finishing writings that I've started (a couple screenplays, two books on Christian Ministry, a memoir, and perhaps at that point, a book on the subconscious mind).- Graduate school interests
Current grad student at The University of Chicago's School of Social Service Administration
I am applying for the Masters in Divinity program here that would place me on a joint-degree track for a double master's completed by 2019
After some years working in the field I would love to return to school to pursue a doctorate in Neuroscience and become a brain researcher or neurosurgeon.
