About

Hello, my name is Julie Chase. I am a wife and a mother of three children. My husband and I got into foster care and became parents to our youngest child about 4 years ago. I have all boys and they are amazing! Teaching2reach each student is my greatest desire and drive. So, when I was asked to help in the Math and Science department of a school in our district, that was struggling, it was a great opportunity for me to instill positivity and a growth mindset… showing students that they can move forward and learn what they need to learn to be successful. For the last five years, I have had the privilege to teach at the Title 1 school, and with great leadership and opportunities, our students have grown every year. The students love Science and Math, and so do I, as I work to incorporate STEM into the classroom…I decided I needed to have some more foundation and reached out to Louisiana State University Online Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on STEM. It is my desire to see STEAM/STEM fully integrated and prospering in our elementary school, and it is with the full support of the administration to seek this endeavor for the betterment of our students and school. Our students need this opportunity to dream and set their goals to gain knowledge to reach their full potential!!

My ultimate goal, for our students and school, is to have a complete k-6 STEM program. If the opportunity arises and the district allocates funding for STEM, ultimately I would love to become the director of the program.
