Julie Gallagher

I am a representational artist using traditional materials and techniques to create images. Primarily working in oil paint and watercolor, I am a visual story teller. Subjects to focus on our people, nature, and spaces they inhabit fascinate me. I enjoy glazing and scumbling to get certain flesh tones and reflections of light. I like to layer the paint in glazes to build up shadows and darks, but create minimal texture with thicker paint in the lights and visible areas.
