About

I am originally from Ottumwa, Iowa. I have always had an interest in animals and nature in general and those interests have led me to study animal ecology and conservation biology. I am currently a senior zookeeper at Zoo Miami where I work primarily with South American birds. I am also a PSM student in the conservation biology program at the University of Wisconsin - Stout. I have worked in the zoo field for almost 12 years and I would like to eventually research the decline of the African vulture populations. My ultimate goal would be to do population surveys in and around Serengeti National Park and create educational programs for people living near the park and create a better understanding of the role of vultures in the ecosystem.
