About

I am a Senior at Granby High School in Norfolk VA graduating with a IB certificate. I plan on attending Christopher Newport University in the fall semester of 2024. I played Varsity Football and track for 4 years, and I've worked part time at a pet store for the past two years. I have a younger sister with Down Syndrome and an autistic younger brother- so for years, I've been volunteering in programs and events like Special Olympics, Big Feet Meet, and DSAHR Big Brothers. I'm very passionate about my family, the environment, animals, football, and social justice. My professional aspirations are not monetary or individual goals related solely on the environment, but rather human goals for the betterment of our community, our country, and our world. I have big dreams that I plan on making into a reality.

Goals and interests

Career goal

By becoming an environmental scientist, not only will I be protecting the environment and animals, but I can also implement my research and ideas to better the community and society as well. I plan to find efficient and cost-effective ways to clean up polluted areas, strengthen U.S. farming, and rebuild inner cities with protected parks, gardens and animal respites. I also strive to interest and encourage the youth, (particularly the inner city underprivileged) to study and engage in environmental issues and learn about the ecosystem, perhaps by starting a nonprofit that will provide mentorship, education and career development for adolescents and teenagers who do not have role models.

Graduate school interests

Master's in political science or biology- It depends on how my undergraduate studies go. I still have a lot to learn and discover, so nothing is set in stone yet.

Outside the classroom

In my free time, I enjoy watching documentaries, history channels, movies, football, cooking, reading, listening to music, playing the bass guitar, playing video games, going on nature hikes and fishing. My greatest hobby is collecting and raising my pets. I’ve owned/raised 4 Bearded Dragons, 4 snakes, 8 Geckos, 3 long tailed lizards, an Iguana, 2 Turtles, Fish, Scorpions, and 3 Frogs which I bought and cared for with my own money... my oldest pet (aquatic Turtle) is 11 years old.
