Justin Laurenceau is a musician, educator, and arts leader based in New York City. He currently serves as Director of Bands at Uncommon Schools in Brooklyn while completing his Master of Arts in Music Education at Teachers College, Columbia University. As a freelance trombonist and collaborative artist, Justin has performed throughout New York City in a variety of musical settings, drawing from both classical and contemporary traditions.
Committed to expanding access to arts education, Justin has worked extensively with students across diverse cultural and educational backgrounds through organizations including the New York City Department of Education, the Harmony Program, and Metropolitan Music Community. His work focuses on culturally responsive teaching, student mentorship, leadership development, and the role of music as a tool for community engagement and social connection.
