About
Hello! My name is Kaliyah Powell and I am currently a junior at the Savannah College of Art and Design studying 2D Animation. I graduated valedictorian in 2024 from Harbour Oaks Montessori School, have made an award winning animated film, and am a Dean's List student.
I am extremely passionate about animation and believe it to be the most effective medium of storytelling there is. I am working hard to achieve my dream of creating my own animated shows and studio that will inspire people in the same way animated shows have inspired me.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
After graduating, I plan to gain industry experience by working at animation studios. After gaining a nuanced understanding of how the industry functions, I will create my own animation studio. This studio will produce original animated shows that tell meaningful and impactful stories, and will support emerging creatives through mentorships and internships.
I strongly believe in the power of storytelling and the ability animation has to convey these stories in a way no other medium can. It is also a strong belief of mine that many incredible stories in the world are just waiting to be told, but the people holding onto these stories don’t have the resources to pursue a traditional art education. Through my career I aim to bridge that gap, strengthening the animation community as a whole and onboarding others to tell stories that matter.
