Goals and interests

Career goal

I am currently the Director of Education at the Millicent Rogers Museum in Taos, New Mexico. I am working to expand my knowledge and understanding of museum operations and the collaborative efforts developing toward civic responsibility with an emphasis on diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion in the field. Community centered museums are paramount in the well-being of people, with place-based understandings providing a complex narrative among constituents, visitors, and leadership. My experience in teaching and my ability to both lead and work as part of a team will help position me for serving my community while bringing current knowledge and scholarship to the field.

Graduate school interests

My interests are in becoming a better writer through academic rigor, learning more about the world of museums and the management of museums, and the intersection of education and museum programs. I have set a goal this semester to seek information from government websites to gain a deeper understanding of employment, financial, and preservation laws and regulations as they pertain to museum management practices.

Outside the classroom

Cooking, reading, writing, nature, painting.
