About

I am currently an Integrated Health Sciences major at Western Carolina University, NC. I am studying Integrated Health Sciences in order to apply for a BSN or an ABSN program. From there I will take the NCLEX exam and get my RN license and I plan to continue my education and become a Nurse Practioner and a Certified Registered Nurse Anethsiest (CRNA). I have grown up in a home that knowing the basics of the medical field was important. My father was diagnosed with stage 4-lung cancer when I was only 11 years old. Ever since then, I have always had a burning passion for the medical field and for helping others. Throughout high school I took anatomy and physiology, I got my CNA license as a Junior, and I also took a pharmacy technician course. I am also the owner of K's closet in my home town, Andrews, North Carolina. This closet is in a room at the high school and it is for the underprivileged families who need assistance with clothing, food, hygiene products, etc. It has helped a tremendous amount of families in my home town and the surrounding counties. I hope to one day spread the word to Western Carolina University, in the hopes of helping those in need on campus.

This only being my second semester at WCU, and with covid-19 guidelines, I have not had opportunities to engage with the community as much as I would like. However, I have managed to make all A's in my classes and maintain a 4.0 GPA, while also being acknowledged on the Chancellors List and the Dean's List.
