Katelynn Poston

My intended job path is one that I have thought about since I was little. I felt the need to become someone that helps and builds up a child's mood or state of mind that they themselves do not have consciousness over. I plan to graduate with a bachelor's in Psychology, and in my major I want to pursue the concentration field of Child Psychology. It has been my passion to work with and around kids since I was one. After college, I will pursue a job in my field in which I will have already had internships in at a place here in my college town of Ruston, LA or Monroe, LA. I plan to help children of all ages cope and work through problems they're both not knowing of and having troubles with. It is the sole reason I feel I am put on this Earth for.

I currently do not have a huge interest in grad school, mostly because I am unsure on the requirements and financial aspects of the idea, but if it will help me in becoming the Child Psychologist I am dreaming to be, teach me the incredible ways about doing my job, and enlighten me about my career further, then I am one to look into it for my future endeavors. I am extremely passionate about my future.

My hobbies are ones that are not normal to one's point of view, but they are my favorite pastimes. I like to sit and dwell on many thing on a micro and hyper-detailed level, such as dreams or ways of thinking about a certain instance. I also like to write straight out of books or the dictionary, not necessarily do I write and create poems, novels, or stories, but just writing in general, you can call it copying texts. Another hobby of mine is to listen to music and find quirks about them, certain noises or sounds that stand out among the rest of the music components, it gives my mind a piece of mind. Lastly, my favorite pastime is observing people and how they speak, act, and their facial and body motions. I tend to notice a lot about a person, such as their way of saying a certain word, or their one reoccurring movements they tend to make while speaking, or even they way their eyes move while speaking to me, you'd be surprised at what you can see in one's eyes.
