About
My name is Kathleen and I live in Grand Junction, Colorado. I am currently taking Umass Amherst online Public Health and Nutrition graduate courses while working as an community RD at WIC and a clinical RD at a rural hospital. I graduated from the University of Arizona in Tucson with a degree in nutritional science. My dietetic internship through Iowa State allowed me to complete my internship in my hometown in Colorado along with a community nutrition rotation in India. I recently got married and am in the process of changing my last name. My husband and I enjoy traveling and outdoor activity, such as snowboarding, rock climbing and kayaking.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
I have worked with the Colorado WIC program for almost 5 years and enjoy providing nutrition services for women and children. For the past two years, I have worked in a rural community with oncology patients and both in and outpatients. It is exciting to work with such a variety of patients. My long term career goal is to work community and public health nutrition internationally.
- Graduate school interests
The online graduate program has allowed me to continue to provide nutritional services to my hometown and local areas. I have worked with multiple county health departments and a rural hospital to provide nutrition education to a variety of populations. I have enjoyed "meeting" people from around the world through online class discussions and projects.
- Outside the classroom
Living in Colorado, I love the outdoors. My husband and I are always on the search for new adventures. We often find ourselves hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, kayaking and snowboarding.
