Kathryn Lee

Kathryn Lee, currently a dance major at Belhaven University, is an enthusiastic individual, passionate about ministry and building connections with people whose strengths differ from her own. She intends to graduate with a BFA in 2017, emphasizing in performance and choreography. Lee’s zeal for life transcends into varying facets of interest including singing, working with children and running cross-country.
Prior to her arrival at Belhaven University, Lee trained at various schools including Crossings Dance and Edmonton Dance Centre, as well as participating in summer programs with School of Alberta Ballet and Canadian Contemporary Dance Theatre. Her accolades include distinction in her Royal Academy of Dance and Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing examinations, and an Honorable Mention for dance at Alberta High School of Fine Arts. Academically, she graduated from AHSFA with honors with distinction and was named ASC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete and NCCAA Scholar-Athlete for the fall season of 2015.
In recent years, Lee has performed with Belhaven’s Urban Dance Club, Dance Ministry Ensemble, and dance team, as well as touring with CIC Dance theatre for the 2016 summer season. She has also enjoyed working as a Resident Assistant at Belhaven, teaching summer dance camps at various churches and working with Kids On Track Ministry. In the years to come, Lee hopes to find herself working collaboratively with artists and athletes of all types, seeking to share and discover the beauty of dance in its many forms. She hopes to make dance relevant and accessible to a broader audience, believing that dance ignites a place within the soul that longs to be understood in a way that words cannot describe.
