About

For the past decade I have been a working actor, dancer and vocalist in the Bay Area, having graduated from the pacific Conservatory for Performing Arts in Santa Maria. I am so lucky to have created a thriving career out of what I love, but have now decided to pursue a career in outdoor education, focused on the healing benefits gained from wilderness therapy. I have always strived to help those around me and have cultivated a passion for health, biology and the outdoors. After completing my associate degree in pre-nursing and human biology through Sierra College, I came across Fort Lewis College's Adventure Education and Leadership Program. My goal is to obtain my degree within the next three years and to begin a career in outdoor therapy and education.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I am aiming to break into the field of wilderness therapy, focusing on helping those with alcohol and addiction problems overcome their obstacles and create healthier coping mechanisms to guide them through their lives. I am also interested in teaching outdoor skills to children and adolescents, getting kids outside and cultivating a sense of confidence in growing youths.

Outside the classroom

I am an avid lover of the performing arts and have had the opportunity to dance, act and sing my way through the last decade. I am fluent in jazz, ballet, lyrical, contemporary and musical theatre styles of dance as well as various styles of latin ballroom. I love all things outdoors including hiking, trail running, swimming, kayaking, and exploration in general. World travel is near and dear to my heart and something that has helped to shape me as a human through out the years as I gained new insight and perspective through experiencing other cultures, my most recent trip being to Mongolia. When i'm not out globetrotting or dancing my heart out, I am usually buried in a book and snuggling with my dog. I love reading and will eagerly indulge in nearly any genre. I love learning nw things and try to find the opportunity anyway that I can.
