internship ( Fall-Summer) at During my internship at the North Carolina Museum of Art (NCMA) from the Fall of 2023 to the Summer of 2024, I worked in the Department of Audience Outreach and Engagement. Under the guidance of Sabrina Hurtado, the Manager of Teen and College Events at the museum, I was responsible for various tasks, including generating ideas for teen events, coordinating College Night, organizing Teen Day, and managing smaller projects for the Teen Art Council at the museum. This experience provided me with valuable insights into effectively engaging diverse audiences, requiring me to continuously devise innovative approaches to attract people to the museum. For example, I had the opportunity to design nine stickers for the Ancient Egyptian gallery exhibit, strategically using them to pique visitors' interest in exploring the entire exhibit, including overlooked pieces. Furthermore, this internship facilitated interactions with key individuals within the museum, such as Allison Maslow, the Director of Graphic Design; Denise Gunter, the Creative Curator; Angela Lombardi, the Director of the Engagement and Outreach Program, and many other executives. These interactions allowed me to delve into various career paths within the art and design industry.

About

I am currently a senior at Enloe High School in Raleigh, North Carolina, where I have found my passion for graphic design and art. I love using my creative skills to design eye-catching posters, logos, and graphics for various school activities and organizations. In addition to graphic design, I am also interested in drawing and creating small animations. My involvement in the Academy of Creative Design (ACD), the National Honor Society (NHS), and the Teen Art Council at the North Carolina Museum of Art has further nurtured my love for art and design. Furthermore, I have gained valuable experience through an internship with the Department of Outreach and Audience Engagement under Sabrina from fall to summer.
