Goals and interests

Career goal

Upon completion of my graduate studies, my goal is to explore district-level policy roles that align with my equity-focused goals. Ultimately, my goal is to contribute to meaningful, systemic change in education. After retirement, I aim to serve as a consultant or advisor for my alma maters, continuing to support educational improvement, teacher mentorship, and leadership development.

Outside the classroom

In my personal time, I enjoy creative hobbies such as crafting, scrapbooking, and sewing; anything that allows me to express my creativity. I also love reading and am an active member of a book club, which gives me the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions and connect with others through literature.

Volunteering

  • I serve as a catechist for the PACT (Parent and Children Together) program at my church, where I support the faith formation of children in the 3rd grade. In this role, I facilitate lessons, guide discussions, and create a welcoming environment that encourages children to actively engage in learning and reflection. This experience has strengthened my ability to build community, communicate across diverse groups, and support learning in a collaborative, family-centered setting.
