About
My name is Kayla Hamilton, and I’m currently pursuing a career in respiratory therapy. After working as a dental assistant for seven years, I realized I wanted something more that would allow me to make a deeper impact. That’s what led me to respiratory therapy, a field that combines critical care, compassion, and the ability to truly change lives.
I’m especially passionate about working with newborns and children and hope to one day specialize in neonatal care and work in the NICU.
What drives me the most is my family. My husband and my daughter are my biggest motivation. They push me to keep going, even when things get hard, and they inspire me to set an example of hard work, growth, and following your passion. I want my daughter to see that it’s never too late to chase your dreams and create a life you’re proud of.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
My goal as a respiratory therapist is to specialize in neonatal and pediatric care, with a focus on working in the NICU. I’m deeply passionate about helping vulnerable patients, especially newborns and children who are fighting to breathe. I plan to gain experience in a hospital setting, preferably at a facility with a strong neonatal intensive care unit. Long term, I want to continue growing through hands-on experience, advanced certifications, and possibly even transition into transport or critical care teams. My ultimate goal is to become a trusted and skilled clinician who provides compassionate, life saving care to patients and peace of mind to their families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives
- Graduate school interests
’m interested in graduate school to advance my skills as a respiratory therapist, especially in neonatal and critical care. I’m passionate about providing high quality patient care, and continuing my education will help me grow into a leadership or specialized role.
- Outside the classroom
I enjoy going to the gym in my free time to stay active and clear my mind. I love traveling and exploring new places, whether a quick weekend getaway or an adventure in a new city. Shopping is one of my favorite ways to relax and treat myself, and I always prioritize quality moments with my family. I particularly look forward to football season, as it brings me joy to spend time with my family, cooking delicious food while we all watch the games on Sundays.
