About
My attraction to and reason for attending Marywood University was the core values it was built around: Catholic Identity, Respect, Empowerment, Service, and Excellence. I believe core values play a big part in our lives and help guide us to the places we strive to get to in life. These core values emulate me as a person and the person who I continue to strive to be in my everyday life. I feel my biggest passion in life is helping people as I follow these values.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
I currently work as a Primary Drug and Alcohol Outpatient Counselor at Drug and Alcohol Treatment Service (DATS) for their DUI Department. I gained so much knowledge from my supervisor, other faculty, and simply just by hands on. I also have Marywood to thank for the skill set they provided me with for dealing with individuals that I counsel. Marywood provided me with the opportunity to learn counseling methods and how to approach each client differently. It is interesting to see how each workday is completely different from the last because each client is different and has a different treatment needs.
- Graduate school interests
My Education and my passion to help others has been the driving force in encouraging me to continue onto Graduate school. Learning new counseling methods, and having the knowledge needed of the appropriate ways to approach clients, are just some of the crucial aspects that I need to improve in order to better serve my clients, and make me a better counselor. If considered for this scholarship, it will allow me to continue in my current graduate program at Marywood and allow me to continue working full time to help those who are in need of treatment.
- Outside the classroom
My hobbies include, crafting/antiquing, decorating rooms, babysitting my 5 cousins, taking them places (i.e. shopping, getting their nails done, getting them baseball and softball equipment), taking them to the field to practice, and watching them play their games. I enjoy helping people in any situation whether they need help crossing the street, need to vent, or just need someone to listen and let them know they are not alone. I love going to zoo's, ice cavern's and water falls. I also love animals espcially dogs and ferretts. I am trying to adopt a dog with a disability so that it has a caring home environment and people who will love it unconditionally. In the past I was very active in softball. I even played my freshman year in college. I was a catcher and played for several teams at once over many years and played hundreds of games over the years. The best was playing in the softball World Series in Kalamazoo Michgian - an experence I will never forget.
