Kayla White

My name is Kayla White. I am currently a senior at Shelbyville High School. I’m a very ambitious student. I am very trustworthy and very dependable. I am an A and B student. I am ranked as number 13 in my class. I have a GPA of 3.5. During my 9th-grade year, I was part of the Distinguished route at my high school. I took Pre AP English. I was also part of our Military Marching Band and Concert Band, where I play the trumpet. Our band made it to Area this year and also made Sweepstakes. Then, two of our band members and I went to Solo and Ensemble where we placed the 1st division on our music. During my 10th-grade year, I continued in the Distinguished route and took Pre AP Engish. I also continued to play trumpet in our school’s band. We made it to Area and made Sweepstakes once again. Then, the same band members and I place the 1st division on our music again. I also joined UIL, where I participated in Science at the district level. During my 11th-grade year, I continued in the Distinguished route and took Pre AP Engish 3. I also began taking dual credit college classes with Panola College. I took two History courses, Public Speaking and Music Theory. I also continued to play trumpet in our band. When placed 5th in State and made Sweepstakes. I also became 3rd chair trumpet. I also continued to compete in Science UIL, where I competed at the District level. I also joined FFA this year. I showed a Goat, where I placed 4th in my weight class and placed 8th in Sale. I won $2,000 for placing in the Sale, and I also won a belt buckle for winning Senior Showmanship. I then competed in our school’s Radio team at the LDE District level. I also competed in our school’s Floriculture team at the CDE District level. I was then awarded my Green Hand Degree. During my 12th-grade year, I have continued in the Distinguished route and am take dual credit college classes with Panola College. I continued to play in the band where I am now a section leader for the trumpet section. By the end of my senior year, I should have 24 hours of college credits. When I graduate, I would like to get my master’s degree in Accounting. While I’m in college I would like to participate in band and an art class. One of my favorite things to do is paint and draw. I would also like to minor in Agriculture.
