About
Hello! My name is Kaylah Dickerson. I am an 25 year old African American women from Newark, New Jersey. I moved to Wisconsin in the year of 2016 with my mother. I've grown up believing that college is the best way to succeed and achieve in life. I love to learn! I recently obtained my Associate's degree in Human Service from Gateway Technical College in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Obtaining this degree has taken me almost five years to obtain due to me having to work full-time to pay for my education.
My journey with my education has been a lengthy one. I first enrolled into Nursing because my entire mother's side of the family are nurses and that is all I've known. However , after my diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis back in 2020 , I changed career paths. My long term goals with education is to obtain my PHD in Psychology , which is what I've really wanted to do since the 8th grade. I am passionate about the human race. I am passionate about being a help to others that are in need.
After everything is said and done, my main priority and objective is to provide grace, acceptance, support , understanding and compassion to others;in which my hopes is that this objective can spread as much as it can to create a more kind and understanding society.
I believe I am the best canidate for scholarships because my whole life has been a struggle and at the end of each struggle I am always able to help others which ultimately helps myself. I am dedicated to my long term goals and passion. I embody perseverance to accomplish any challenge that is placed in my pathway.
