About

For the past ten years, dance has been a major part of my life—not only as a passion, but as a teacher and leader. Working with younger girls and helping teach them gave me the opportunity to grow into a leadership role, where I learned how to guide others with patience, confidence, and responsibility. Alongside my commitment to dance, I’ve always prioritized my education. I’ve proudly maintained AB Honor Roll throughout high school, and since my junior year, I’ve been dual-enrolled at Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC), where I’ll continue taking classes during my senior year. Ever since I started high school, I’ve dreamed big for my future and focused heavily on school, knowing that the foundation I build now will shape who I become. I plan to pursue a career as a cardiac sonographer, with a specialization in fetal echocardiography, and I know that with hard work and the right support, I can achieve that goal. Receiving this scholarship would help me continue on this path, making the education I’ve worked so hard for over the years more accessible and bringing me one step closer to reaching my dream.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I plan to start my career by earning an associate’s degree in cardiac sonography. After gaining experience in this field, I want to specialize in fetal cardiovascular sonography, focusing on the hearts of unborn babies. This specialty will allow me to detect heart problems early in pregnancy and play a role in helping families prepare and seek treatment. My goal is to work in a hospital setting where I can make a real difference in people’s lives through early detection and care.

Outside the classroom

Some of my favorite hobbies include dancing, coloring, and spending time with my friends. Dancing has always been my biggest passion—it allows me to express myself and stay active. I also enjoy coloring because it’s a relaxing and creative outlet that helps me unwind. Hanging out with my friends is important to me too, as it gives me a chance to make fun memories and stay connected with the people I care about.

Volunteering

  • Teaching little kids how to dance and learn ballet has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my life. I loved helping them build confidence, learn new steps, and express themselves through movement. Watching them grow and improve each week taught me patience, leadership, and the joy of inspiring others through something I’m passionate about.
