I am currently working towards obtaining my Bachelor in Health Science from South College in Knoxville, TN. I am planning to apply to medical schools in 2021 in hopes of becoming a physician in medicine. I have always found medicine exciting and love helping people, I was introduced to medicine at a young age as my mother has been an FNP for over twenty years. I always knew I had a passion for learning and loved science and anatomy, this being said I did not take the traditional path right out of high school. Since returning to college after a ten year hiatus and having a child, I became determined to learn as much as possible and have been able to stay dedicated to achieving my goals in academic success, I have been on the presidents list since returning to college and set a goal to hopefully graduate summa cum laude. During the gap between high school and my return to college I was able to manage a corporate restaurant, through this experience I was able to become assertive, gain leadership skills as well as interpersonal skills, volunteer in my community, and have an overall understanding of how to fairly manage people. After having my child, I decided to return to school and finally pursue my passion in the field of medicine. I now work in healthcare at UT Medical Center and enjoy learning from the nurses and physicians I have the pleasure of interacting and working with. My leadership experience where I managed, overall life experience over the years, as well as becoming a mother really helped solidify my decision to return to college and pursue medicine.
