About

I am a 17-year-old senior at Reno High School, born and raised in Reno, Nevada—a place that is more than just my hometown; it is a part of who I am. From the wide-open skies to the tight-knit community, Reno has shaped my perspective on life, teaching me resilience, independence, and the value of hard work.

Growing up here, I’ve learned how to navigate challenges while staying grounded in where I come from. Reno isn’t just where I was raised—it’s where I found my strength, built my identity, and discovered the importance of pushing forward even when life isn’t easy. Every experience, both good and difficult, has helped me grow into the person I am today.

As I prepare to graduate, I carry those lessons with me into my next chapter at the University of Nevada, Reno. Continuing my education in the same city that raised me feels deeply meaningful—it’s not just about staying close to home, but about honoring it. I want to build a future that reflects the resilience and determination this community has instilled in me.

Reno will always be a part of my story, but now, I’m ready to write the next chapter.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I plan to attend the University of Nevada, Reno on a pre-veterinary track, where I will study animal science and gain hands-on experience working in local veterinary clinics. After earning my bachelor’s degree, I intend to attend veterinary school to obtain my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and become a licensed veterinarian. I plan to work in a clinic in Northern Nevada to build real-world experience before eventually opening my own veterinary clinic in Reno, where I can provide high-quality care to animals and give back to the community that raised me.

Graduate school interests

My graduate school interests focus on pursuing a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), where I can deepen my knowledge of animal health, surgery, and clinical care. I am especially interested in small animal medicine and developing the skills needed to diagnose, treat, and care for pets. Through veterinary school, I aim to gain both hands-on experience and advanced medical training that will prepare me to become a licensed veterinarian and eventually open my own clinic in Reno.

Outside the classroom

Outside of academics, I enjoy staying active and creative through a variety of hobbies that reflect both my energy and compassion. I love snowboarding and gymnastics, which challenge me physically and build discipline, balance, and confidence. I also enjoy art as a creative outlet where I can express myself and explore new ideas. Most importantly, I spend time caring for animals, which has strengthened my patience and deepened my passion for their well-being, further inspiring my goal of working in veterinary science.
