About
my name is Kelly Brinton. I live in Fenton, MO about 20 min west of St. Louis. I am 41 years old, divorced and I have 3 children; Carley 13, Abby 12 and Ian 11. My kids and I love doing all sorts of things, right now they love to go fishing and camping which has taken up a lot of our summer.
I received my bachelor from SEMO in Elementary Education 1st - 8th and specialized in English and Literature 7th-9th. During my 3rd yr, I jumped from 2nd grade up to 7th. What a difference! And I loved it. I taught middle school for 7 years, 6 of those in Catholic schools and 1 year at Riverview Gardens.
I left the teaching field in May of 2003 after the birth of son to be a stay at home mom. ( I had 3 under 3 at the time).
I began in 2005 working for the American Postal Workers Union (APWU) as a temporary secretary which I still continue on occasion today. I have observed and worked with different APWU members and officers. I learned about grievance filing, helped to gather and organize information for grievant and arbitration cases, worked with other various Labor projects and observed situations involving collective bargaining. I voluntarily attended seminars and workshops concerning labor law, collective bargaining and other such labor topics that were sponsored by University of Missouri St. Louis, the St. Louis Labor Council and other renowned institutions and organizations.
