About
My school experience has been filled with both rewarding opportunities and significant challenges. Throughout my time in school, I have been heavily involved in activities that allow me to serve my community, such as volunteering with FFA at events like the Pendleton Children’s Rodeo, FFA Farm Days, the Round-Up merchandise booth, and Pendleton Bike Week. These experiences have helped me develop leadership, teamwork, and a passion for giving back. I also have a strong love for music and spent some time in a choir class, which deepened my appreciation for singing. Sports have also been a part of my life, and I enjoyed playing volleyball. Beyond that, my love for the outdoors and the mountains has always been a source of peace and inspiration for me.
Despite my involvement in these activities, my journey through school has not been easy. I have struggled with debilitating migraines for years, which have often made it difficult to focus and keep up with my schoolwork. After much uncertainty and searching for answers, I was finally diagnosed with Chiari malformation—a condition where brain tissue extends into the spinal canal, causing pressure that can lead to severe headaches, dizziness, and other neurological symptoms. Living with Chiari has been a constant battle, as the pain and fatigue it causes can be overwhelming. However, despite the challenges, I continue to push forward.
Even with these obstacles, I have worked hard to achieve my goals. I started college early during my junior year of high school, balancing my high school coursework with college classes to get ahead in my education. On top of that, I work almost full-time while managing the demands of my senior year and college. It hasn’t been easy, but I am determined to keep going and prove to myself that I can overcome any challenge that comes my way. My experiences have taught me resilience, perseverance, and the value of hard work, and I am proud of how far I’ve come.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
As a first-grade teacher, I plan to create a nurturing and engaging classroom where every child feels valued, supported, and excited to learn. I will use hands-on activities, storytelling, and interactive lessons to make learning fun and meaningful, fostering a love for reading, math, and creativity. By building strong relationships with my students and their families, I will ensure that each child receives the encouragement and resources they need to thrive. I will also focus on social-emotional development, teaching kindness, resilience, and problem-solving skills. My goal is to inspire confidence and curiosity in my students, setting a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
- Outside the classroom
I have a deep love for music and enjoy listening to a variety of genres. I was in a choir class for a little while, which helped me appreciate singing and the power of music even more. I also enjoyed playing volleyball, as it was a fun and active way to challenge myself and work as part of a team. Beyond that, I have a strong passion for the outdoors, especially spending time in the mountains. Whether it’s hiking, exploring, or just taking in the fresh air and scenery, I always feel at peace when I’m surrounded by nature.

Volunteering
-
Volunteering with FFA has given me the opportunity to serve my community in meaningful ways, from supporting children with special needs at the Pendleton Children’s Rodeo to educating young students during FFA Farm Days. At the rodeo, I help ensure that every child has a fun and inclusive experience, introducing them to the excitement of rodeo events in a supportive environment. During Farm Days, I guide elementary students as they explore and learn about various farm animals, many of which they may have never encountered before. Additionally, I have worked at the Round-Up merchandise booth and assisted with Pendleton Bike Week by running a soda booth, helping to fundraise and support local events. Through these experiences, I have developed leadership, teamwork, and a deep appreciation for giving back to my community.
