Kelsey Peterson

I graduated from Red Oak High School in 2009 and went to Angelo State University where I focused on Psychology. In 2011, I transferred to the University of North Texas for a year, still focusing on Psychology, however, I knew that I wanted to change my focus to something I loved more. I took some time off until I knew what my dream job was, and took a job working in insurance in a small local insurance office. I work very closely with our customers making sure that their needs are met, they have the correct coverage for their lives, and that they know that they are always going to be taken care of, whether they are calling, e-mailing, or coming into the office.

I have 3 nieces who I spend as much time with as possible; being an aunt is the greatest joy in life. I am extremely close with my family and my close circle of friends. I am an animal lover to the core; I have 2 dogs, Jersey and Abbey Road, and 2 cats, Love Bug and Panda Bear. I frequently speak up when I see injustices against minorities, those who are not there to defend themselves, and those who cannot defend themselves. Equality is my number one goal in life.

In my free time, I read everything I can get my hands on, go to a bookstore and find books I'm missing, or researching books for other interests I have: feminism, animals, writing, and essential oils are usually the top picks. I am working on a novel of my own that I do hope to one day finish and publish. And, being a native Texan, I love my chips and salsa, but having a lot of family from Wisconsin, I also really love all types of cheese.
