About

I am Kennedi Wilson. I am currently a senior at the University of Texas at San Antonio studying Biomedical Engineering. My interest are in medical innovations for the advancement of patient health care, thus, I strive in this direction for my future career. I enjoy traveling and engaging in outdoor activities such as horseback riding, zip lining, skiing, kayaking and hiking. When not in class, one may typically find me crafting, which consists of making pottery or sculpting. During my years at the university,I have made sure of being engaged with the students and campus. I ams involved in numerous organizations including the National Society for Black Engineers, The President's Student Leadership Council, Phi Kappa Phi, Tau Beta Pi, and the volunteer organization at UTSA (VOICES). Following graduation I plan to extend my education by attending medical school, then working to assist with medical innovations.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I selected biomedical engineering as my undergraduate path because it combines my passion for the human body with the challenge of understanding the mechanisms of the body necessary for providing innovations. Being that, I have deep dived into both the clinical and industrial aspects of biomedical engineering, I plan to attend medical school to gather more experience in this field. This will assist with my long term goal of assisting a medical device company with innovations by providing the clinical aspects of engineering design. Alongside both of these, I plan to give back to underserved areas by providing heath care for common clinical needs through missions with a team of nurses, physicians, engineers and coordinators.

Graduate school interests

Following graduation from UTSA as a biomedical engineering undergraduate, I will attend medical school.

Outside the classroom

I enjoy outdoor activities including hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, zip lining, skiing, and rafting.
I enjoy crafting which includes pottery and sculpting.
I enjoy participating in yoga and cycling for energy and meditation.
I enjoy baking holiday deserts.
