About
As a motivated junior with a 3.4 GPA, my high school journey has been defined by consistent academic growth and resilience, as shown by my steadily improving grades each year. I apply this same dedication to serving my community and leading my peers, demonstrating the character and strong work ethic central to the National Honor Society.

Honors and awards
-
Be Challenged Award
This award was given to one student per grade level at my school. It is given to students who challenged themselves throughout the year with classes and went out of their comfort zone to complete tasks they normally wouldn't.
Goals and interests
- Career goal
My deep love for writing has shaped my high school experiences and driven my ambition to pursue a career in journalism, with the ultimate goal of becoming an editor. I view writing not just as a passion, but as a vital tool for connecting communities, sharing diverse perspectives, and uncovering meaningful stories. As a junior, I am eager to bring this dedication to communication, along with my strong work ethic and character, to the National Honor Society, where I hope to use my skills to amplify our service initiatives and lead my peers effectively.
- Graduate school interests
Following my undergraduate studies in journalism, I intend to pursue a master’s degree in journalism or publishing with a specific focus on editorial leadership and digital media strategy. My goal is to gain advanced training in developmental editing, media law, and newsroom management, equipping me with the expertise required to lead impactful publications as a senior editor.
- Outside the classroom
Beyond my academic and journalism goals, my deepest hobby and passion is singing. Since my freshman year, I have been a member of Uniting Voices Chicago's premier ensemble, "Voice of Chicago." Being part of this elite choir has been a transformative experience, allowing me to take part in once-in-a-lifetime opportunities like traveling to Italy and performing on stage at Lollapalooza. These experiences have not only fueled my love for music, but they have also taught me the immense value of collaboration, discipline, and dedication—qualities that I bring to every aspect of my life and future career.
