Kevin Gomez-Franco

I am currently a student at the University of Nebraska Omaha with a Studio Art Major. I was born in Omaha, Nebraska but was raised in Mexico. I have been living in the US for almost 5 consecutive years now, becoming economically independent from my parents living in Mexico before turning 16, and dealing with the struggles of finding my way in a new country by myself. It has remained a challenge to support myself while maintaining academic excellence and to involve myself in extracurricular activities that interfere with my working schedule. I seek to use my art as a tool for self expression and as a source of inspiration for others. My diverse cultural background allows me to have a different perspective on the variety of social differences between and within communities. I am working towards becoming a renowned artist to use my voice and my work as a social advocate.
